How the Extension Works

Our extension operates in two modes:

Basic Features (Local Processing)

  • Transcript features are processed entirely in your browser
  • No data is sent to our servers for basic transcript functionality
  • Video transcripts are accessed directly from YouTube when you’re watching a video

AI Features (Server Processing)

  • When using AI features, your queries and the video transcript are temporarily processed through our servers
  • This data is only used to generate AI responses and is not stored
  • Data is immediately discarded after processing
  • We do not log or retain any information about your queries or the videos you analyze

Data Transmission

  • All communication with our servers for AI features uses secure HTTPS encryption
  • We do not track which videos you use the AI features with
  • We do not associate AI queries with any user identifiers

Third-Party Services

  • The extension interacts with YouTube to access video transcripts
  • Your use of YouTube is governed by their privacy policy
  • Payment processing is handled entirely by LemonSqueezy (our payment provider)
